Do Self Hypnosis tapes actually work?

Do they actually help with problems like anxiety, self confidence and weight loss?

I am (among other things) hypnotherapist and the tapes you mention will help some people and not others.

The secret of successful hypnosis is to find an induction and a metaphor which is exactly suited to the person’s problem and how the person experiences that problem.

It is then obvious that a tape for the general public will only be useful to a very restricted number of people, however cleverly the person who made it thinks he formulated it. It’s just for sale and making money. Your best bet is to find a good hypnotherapist, preferably one who practises Ericksonian hypnosis.

Anxiety, self-confidence, weight loss and much more can all be helped with hypnosis, of course.
