Is anyone else curious about the new ABC TV show coming up, “Huge?”?

I like tv shows about weight loss, so this sounds interesting! Anyone else gonna watch it?

I think I’m probably going to watch a few episodes but tbh it disgusts me. The way society is making ‘health’ a public issue rather than a private and stigmatizing of fatness is completely ridiculous. These people get to the point in their lives where they feel so shitty about the way they look because of what society tells them is beautiful that they think loosing weight is the only way they can love themselves and it saddens me. Weight loss has become synonymous for ‘getting healthy’ when these diets and the pressure just sacrifices their mental and spiritual well being for their so called physical well being. They loose the weight on stupid diets and harsh exercise regimes and then gain it all back and more and the cycle starts alll over again. wtf.

I hope it doesn’t go in the direction I mentioned and I hope it doesn’t live up to the stereotypes surrounding fatness but I’m not expecting too much at this point.
