“In a recent Australian study, it was reported that 68% of separated fathers searched the web for child custody information, within a month of getting separated. Another 28% searched on the topic of suicide and depression, while the remaining searched on topics including iphone, cricket, baldness cures, viagra, pornography, stockmarket and child custody forums. Amongst recently separated mothers, 13% searched on child custody laws within a month of separation, 53% searched on child support, 24% searched for online dating sites, with the remainder searching on topics as diverse as depression, cosmetic surgery, divorce and weight loss.”
That more dads are concerned about loosing their kids in a custody battle and more moms are worried about loosing an income to provide for the kids that they know they will be awarded custody of.
Too bad, more of these subjects didn’t study the effects of divorce on children. Perhaps in some cases would think more about the kids then about themselves and attempt to work though their issues. Which from the sounds of the remaining 28 and 24 percent seems as though they were concerned about their inward feelings and outward appearance then they were about having a happy healthy family.
To those who validate divorce because of abuse by men, I believe that you are holding onto a grossly exaggerated stereotypical belief And also not seeing that there are also abusive women. And to those of you that believe that it’s better to break up a family then it is to work out the reasons for the break up, have no understanding of the value of a family and what it means to children and their well being.
I believe in most cases divorce occurs because of a selfishness on the part of the mother or the father and their inability to hold onto the responsibilities they have has parents and partners. No one gets married because they hated a person. And then only get divorced because they forget to love that person.
