Weight loss while trying to concieve?

So I put on a lot of weight while I had Mirena and I would definitely like to lose it. I don’t want to go on a drastic diet but I’m afraid of hurting my chances to conceive by dieting at all.

My weight may or may not be interfering with my ovulation (see my most recent question for some details if you’re interested) and if it is, losing weight will help, not hurt the process.

If you are honestly over-weight, 50 lbs or more, is it ok to try and lose some weight while trying to conceive or will you just be hampering your fertility. Is it better to just eat healthy and be healthy and let any natural weight loss happen that comes from good eating habits?

I was a perfect weight for my height 5’4″ 120 lb three years ago when i started ttc.. now 3 miscarriages and about 6 clomid cycles later I weigh 165!!! (i’m miserable)
I can eat healthy and work out very very lightly but that’s it or it can hinder all of my ttc efforts. (which are so expensive!)

so, I just wanted to say that I feel your pain and to answer your question, no unless you’re ‘taking a break’ you shouldn’t try to lose weight.
