Cambridge Diet?

I have lost 3 stone but am finding it a struggle as the weight loss has gone really slow. I have another 8 stone to lose and now I may have to have an operation so it would be beneficial if I could get the rest of the weight off quickly.
I know Cambridge Diet & Lighter Life are very speedy weight loss systems and I am willing to do it but I want to know how fast they are but more importantly how much they cost? I have a family so my budget is very limited and I have heard that Lighter Life is in the region of £60 per week which is totally out of my price range.
Is there a cheaper alternative?

The cheaper alternative:-

Breakfast. Oatmeal. It’s low GL so releases eneregy slowly and keeps you fuller for longer. Make it with water, add a little honey to sweeten. CAn add on a small handful fresh chopped fruit too.

Lunch. Grilled fish. Veg. Small boiled / jacket potato.

Dinner. Grilled fish / chicken / pork. Salad. Small amount brown rice.

SNACKS.
Fresh fruit. Handful dried fruit. Handful nuts. Raw veg – carrot and cucumber sticks.

DRINKS.
Water, water and more water!

NO:-
Reformed meats.
White bread, white rice, white pasta.
Packet & microwave foods.
Low sugar foods – this contains more fat to make it taste nicer.
Low fat foods – this contains more sugar to make it taste nicer.
No fizzy drinks.
No artificial sweeteners.

PORTION SIZE.
Protein – lean, not reformed. Should fit in 1 cupped palm.
Veg / salad – fits in 2 cupped palsm or over 1/2 your plate.
Carbs – 2 cooked level tablespoons.
Bread – no white bread, have rye. Again, low GL.

FEELING HUNGRY?
We constantly have ready access to food and often mistake thirst for hunger. So, feeling hungry – have a glass of water and wait 10 mins. Still REALLY hungry? Then eat a piece of fruit.

The Cambridge and L.L. diets are *extreme* 500cals a day diets and should only be done under medical guidance. I know the LL diet involves eating their foods and then being weaned back on to regular food. Just eat wholesome, nutritionally dense and low G.L. foods (Google Low GL Foods for a list of what’s what) and this’ll do the job.
