hyperthyroid cat and weight loss?

My cat has a thyroid level in the 6s which is not terrible (one of my others was diagnosed with it being 12 something) He vomits daily and has lost over 3 pnds in the last 6 months or so…the cat with the higher values had no symptoms at all.
He has been on tapazole but the values are still in the 6s and the medicine was just increased.
The weight loss is making me very nervous…he was a big cat at over 16 pnds now he’s 13.8 pnds.
His other blood work is perfect..i have done xrays and 4 abdominal ultrasound over the past 6 months to make sure nothing else is causing the vomiting. Everything comes back normal except the thyroid value.
Again,,he vomits daily and lost alot of weight..could i be missing something?

The cat is on the transdermal tapazole. The vet did say the 1/4 pepcid which i started tonight…did your hyper t cat vomit often??????

Phone your vet and ask when they want to do a blood test to see how the newly increased meds are working. Usually they say wait a month then do a test for it.

I’d also ask if giving 1/4 tablet of Pepcid A/C (it’s the only cat safe one) once a day to help with stopping the vomiting is ok. Ours was put on that and it helped immensly.

Ours is on methamazole, she started on tapazole but went to the cream when she was too hard to pill. The radio iodine treatment is $1,300 in our area, I could not afford that. Ours is stable on her twice daily dose. She also had been up in the 12 and 14′s but is normalized now.
