Clothing Size vs weight in Women?

I’ve been working hard to lose weight for over a year now. I’m 5’7″ and started at 315 lbs where I squished myself into a size 28. I’m now down to 225 and am somewhere between 20 & a 22 pants and an 16-18 shirt (plus size section only – the 16-18 in the regular section is too small).

Being this close to regular sizes again I’m starting to wonder am I huge for my weight? I’ve read some weight loss forums and most women seem to be a size 16 regular by now. I average out to a 20.

Does anyone have any guesses to when I might fit into a 14-16 in the misses section? Any advise from someone who’s lost a lot of weight would be greatly appreciated.

As you pointed out, women of the same weight fit into different sized clothing. Thus, it would be hard to place exactly when you will fit into a 14-16. I’d guess in another six months or so if you don’t hit a plateau, but to be honest, your guess is as good as mine.

Quite frankly, I would be having a full-out celebration if I were in your place! You’ve probably been told already, but your progress is awesome. Just keep on going as you are, and I promise you’ll get where you to need to be, whether it’s in terms of clothing size or health.
