Weight Loss Extra Skin Toning
Question about weight loss and avoiding excess skin?
Ok so over the last 6 years I have put on about a 100 pounds for all the reasons people normally gain weight I started college, got married, and had to slow down for a couple of years due to a bad knee injury. Now life is back to normal and I am working hard to get my old “in shape” body back. I have already lost about 25 pounds and I am doing everything right (as far as I know) I’m eating healthy, working out, and lifting weights to maintain muscle tone as a shed pounds.
However I am starting to notice that despite the exercise and weight training I have excess skin left behind in areas where I am shedding inches.
Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this continuing to be a problem as I loose the weight? I don’t want to get down to my ideal weight and then just have all this flabby extra skin everywhere and I really do not want to be left with no alternative than to have surgery to have the rest of the skin tightened.
Any advise would be much appreciated.
I recently started losing weight as well, I have lost 11.5 pounds as of today and have been dieting for 8 days. I have read that slow weight loss of 1-2 pounds a week, which I am now aiming for after losing the initial water weight, will help your skin have time to adjust to your new weight loss. I have also read that using a skin firming lotion or a lotion that has vitamin e will help if you use it daily. And if you do exercises that tone muscles you will have a better chance at not having loss skin. Congrats!
