Weight Loss and Pregnancy???

I am 12 weeks pregnant and I have lost 27 pounds since LMP (Nov 30). I started with a BMI of 34.4 (obese) and I am now 30.3 (still obese but almost at overweight) I have been referred to the diabetic clinic due to my insulin resistance that I had prior to pregnancy (gained 50 pounds in less than 6 months). My blood sugars have been doing excellent since my recent weekend bout of vomiting (couldn’t keep anything down for 36 hours except water). Besides that weekend I have been eating healthy and counting carbs and taking my prenatal vitamin. My question is- is there anyone else who experienced weight loss during pregnancy? If so how much weight did you loose? I go to the MD on Tuesday and I am wondering what will be said. A couple weeks ago when my OB said I may loose weight during the 1st trimester and she was only expecting me to gain around 15 pounds total this pregnancy I really wasn’t expecting to be loosing this much weight. I just want some perspective. Thank you

I think it is fine as long as you stay in a healthy weight range. The healthier you are the healthier your baby will be. I lost 10 pounds when I first became pregnant b/c I was at 170 and I started eating healthier and cutting out sugars for my baby. Nothing wrong with that.
