Weight Loss During Pregnancy First Trimester
Weight loss/gain during pregnancy…?
I was just wondering if anyone else lost weight during the first trimester of their pregnancy. When I went to my first prenatal visit when I was pregnant with my daughter I weighed 210, by the end of my first trimester I weighed 195, but I had a small baby bump.
I gave birth at 35 weeks, at my 32 week appointment I was only back up to 210, and when I gave birth to my daughter I was 220. When I left the hospital (4 days post partum) I weighed 205.
Anyone else experience this?!
actually i’m very athletic, and active and 5’11″ tall. most of my body mass is muscle in my legs and arms.
my eating habits really didn’t change. the only thing i did was cut out caffeine from my diet. other than that i ate the same healthy foods that i would eat prior to being pregnant.
my daughter was born at 35 weeks. was 4lbs 11oz…i had pre-eclampsia
Well, like me, you were overweight before pregnancy. Your body kicks into high gear during pregnancy, so it used up most of what you took in. It sounds like you only ate what you needed. I don’t think there was anything wrong, especially since you were the weight you were before. Most women who are overweight are told not to gain much weight. Your body just processed everything for you. I’m planning on number two soon and if I’m still at this weight, it will be a matter of maintaining, not gaining for me.
