Weight Loss Drinks For Diabetics
Fellow Type 2 Diabetics, hows life treating you?
Just wondering what is happening in your lives, how you are managing and what you are doing with diet, blood sugars etc?
I am on a weight loss programme at the moment and eating a diet full of salads, no carbs and small amounts of protein and drinking atleast 2 litres of water a day. My blood sugars are better than they have been for a long time. Im interested to hear what others are doing to try and improve their situation and health?
I am not sure how the other user views that you have it a ton better than type 1 diabetics as all forms of diabetes are dangerous, require a rigid diet, and carry the same life sentence. The only difference being Type 1 produces little to no insulin due to failure on the part of the pancreas and Type 2 you either produce too little insulin or your insulin does not work well. Type 1 and 2 can require insulin. Type 2 can sometimes be controlled with diet and exercise, but a good percentage cannot and require some sort of oral agent. They still have to test like all diabetics, and a good half require insulin. But anyhow, I also am Type 2 on Advandamet 2 x a day and doing well on my sugars. I have to say the diet your on would kill me. At least I can have some carbs, and I am very thankful for that. I try to exercise and eat right, mostly cooking from diabetic cookbooks and testing 4 or more times a day. Eat to your meter as they say. I attend my doctor regularly and take my medicine rigidly. I also keep up on all my other testing as I have a colonoscopy coming up. So chins up everyone!
