Weight loss for men?

I am mystified by people who claim to have lost weight by exercising 30 minutes a day 3 days a week.
I am a regular fat guy, I’m six feet tall and 250lbs, and I cannot seem to lose weight. I have weight trained, walked, did pilates, yoga, and I even had a bowflex which I used religiously for a long time, all to no avail.
I have dieted in the past, but the only results I ever got was a series of bad headaches and the loss of muscle and strength, which was hardly my goal. I also work an intense job of physically stacking products on pallets in a warehouse, where I generally move 50-100,000 pounds of boxes per night.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there something that I missed that could be helping me lose the weight I need to lose?

With that much exercise at work, you don’t need any extra!

All that leaves is your diet. Even you can’t defy the laws of physics, which says that if you take in less energy than you burn each day, you’ll lose pounds.

Sounds to me like you must be burning off at least 3500 cals a day with the type of work you’re doing. maybe more. That’s a lot of food!

As boring as it is, I’d suggest two things for you. 1) Learn the calorie content of foods and then knock off 500/day below what is needed to maintain your current weight. 2) Adapt a low carb, low glycemic index food plan. It’s very healthy and satisfying.
