Women, Have you lost weight by decreasing calories and increasing exercise?

I want to know from someone experienced how long it may take for the weight loss to start. Today is the 13th day of my calorie decrease with exercise increase and I have only lost a pound and a half. I am 5’6″ and now 143 lbs. According to the weight loss calculators that I have used online, I need to eat about 990 calories a day to lose 2 lbs./ week. I have not gone over that number on a single day and yet I have not lost that much. I’ve been eating mostly fruit, veggies, and smart ones brand frozen meals and desserts. Also some chicken and fish. I have lost weight a couple of times before and it wasn’t this hard. Maybe because I am 28 now it is harder. Any suggestions on how I can speed up the weight loss? I’m getting disappointed and discouraged.
