Wellbutrin sr OR xl with weight loss.?

Okay, i know different medications affect people differently. I’m NOT asking how its going to affect my body. I’m just curious if anyone had experiences with being on Wellbutrin Sr and switching to Wellbutrin XL, if the weight loss was different. Or any results with either one. I’m currently on the SR. And i’m considering switching, and so far the weight loss has been good. I just dont want to switch and get like a balloon. I know i should talk to my doctor. I’m just inquiring about other peoples experiences. Thank you!

i haven’t taken SR but i have taken XL. i didn’t take it for weight loss but i did take it for anxiety. i lost alot of weight because it made me so nauseous and dizzy that i didn’t want to eat and moved on to something else.
if you are planning on switching just for the weight loss, i wouldn’t do it. if sr is working out well for you, why not stick with it?
if you are switching for other reasons, i dont see why the difference in xl/sr would affect the amount of weight loss or weight gain. reason being, they are both made up of the exact same chemicals (buproprion) and the only difference is in the way that the chemicals relesae themselves.
