I’m stuck! I’ve tried everything! Weight Loss…?

I have a horrible time with discipline. But I am so ready to lose the weight. If I use Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred once a day, and Yoga Booty Ballet “Advanced Fat Burning” and “Cardio Cabaret” once a day each, is that enough to lose weight and tone up?

I already know all the “tricks” to dieting and stuff. I’ve cut out soda I only drink Lipton Green tea, coffee with splenda, and water. And I eat less than 1500 calories a day. I am just having such a hard time because I don’t lose the weight and I get discouraged. Does anyone have any tricks to speed weight loss? I would love to hear it. I pretty over weight (220 at 5’8″) but proportionate. I want to lose weight for my health more than looks. Someone please help me!

If you are looking to loose fat you need to create a calorie deficit of around 500 calories per day. Over a week this adds up to a pound of fat loss. Your diet on this type of plan should consist of around 30% protein, 40% complex carbohydrates and 30% fats. Use an online BMR calculator to see how many calories you burn in a day. An alternative that works pretty well would be to multiply your weight by 10. This will give you the number of calories to consume in a day. You should be eating these calories over 5-6 meals per day spaced out approximately 3 hours apart. You should limit fruit and other sugary foods as much as possible. Highly sugary foods cause a large insulin response that triggers your body to store fat. In addition to this you need to perform 30-45 min of HIGH intensity cardio exercise. Remember, what is intense for you might be low intensity for someone else. Work at a rate that is challenging for you. Running, jumping rope or biking are good ways to get this exercise. The benefit of cardio exercise is two fold. First you burn fat while doing cardio. Second, if you work at 75% your maximum heart rate for 30min or more your metabolism gets a boost for roughly 3 hours after. The key is consistency. Stick to a plan and you will see results.
