Have you’ve gained weight on effexor and have since lost it:?

I will scream if someone suggests diet and exercise or that Effexor doesnt effect weight. Do a search for effexor and weight gain on the web or on Answers, there are tons of people saying they gained. Also, I was 130 (5.6ft) when i started and now I’m 170lbs. I was on it for almost 2 years, during which I’ve trained for and done 3 half marathons, 1 marathon, several bike races, 4 triathlons (1 of which was a half ironman, and 2 were olympic distance) I eat healthy and in normal proportions. I weened myself off it and was totally free of it 2 1/2 months ago. I’ve seen no weight loss and I’ve started ann intense weight training program and am running 5-7 mi. 3-5 X a week. I’ve been taking milk thistle to help me get it out of my system. Tested for other problems. If anyone has A. has been on effexor for a long period of time and experienced a lot of weight gain on it, B. is off it now for a while, and C. has lost the weight and metablsm has gone back 2 normal, PLEASE tell me.

geez my doc just gave me effexor xr today and said I might lose weight with it I am female and 240 lbs with hypo thyroid. I would love to hear how you stay in such good shape. I am 33 and want this weight off so bad but diet and exercise have not helped as I just yo yo. How was your experience with that particular drug by the way?
