Why are theists so partial to ‘first cause’ arguments?

Is it because this is the only juncture they can assert a ‘hand of god’, because we can conclude that we have seen no evidence of it anywhere else?

Three questions:
1. How can this be falsifiable empirically?
2. How can empirical evidence be directly involved? For example if you say that people who reject god live miserable lives, how can you prove that this miserableness isn’t simply because everyone (theistic) hates them?
3. How is it you don’t understand that this empirical unfalsifiability completely discredits the ‘god’ assertion?

You are suspicious of unfalsifiability in regards to most aspects of your life. You probably wouldn’t buy some new miracle weight loss pill would you? You wouldn’t trust just anyone because they are human would you?

Because it’s a checkmate to the argument. pwned, or ‘poned’ as they say.
