Explain why people say your self-image is the main reason people can be overweight?

I have struggled with weight loss for years, last year I lost 30 lbs but gained it back. The following is a quote from someones input on wight issues “Find some pictures that will improve your self-image, after all, that is the main reason you are the weight that you are. Find some that promote a positive attitude”

Curious what it means to have low self image and that is the reason for being overweight? I feel I have good self image, perhaps this is why I am struggling to understand this.

Low self image isn’t the reason why you are overweight, you can be overweight for many factors: diabetes, genetics, non-healthy food, etc.

Low self image is something that can be caused by being overweight and low self image and cause you to be unable to deal with your weight and become healthier. I say confidence is the key to losing weight because you can’t start the first step with “I can’t do this, I’ll always be like this.” You have to say something like “I can do this, it’s not impossible.” With enough motivation, you can do anything.

“Find some pictures that will improve your self-image, after all, that is the main reason you are the weight that you are. Find some that promote a positive attitude” — I don’t know what it really means, but I think it might mean pictures that give you motivation. I disagree with “that is the main reason you are the weight that you are” because like I said, there are many factors.
