Pedigree Weight Loss Dog Food
Obese Dog Issues?
My dog is obese, and has been her whole life. She was put on thyroid medication exactly two months ago, and has lost 4 lbs. She started at 34 lbs, and is down to 30, so that’s over 10% of her body weight in 2 months. I thought she was doing great.
We went to the vet yesterday and got a different vet who didn’t know the whole story. Nevertheless, she said that isn’t enough weight loss, and I need to give her Slentrol or cut back her food. She’s 30lbs, and eats 1 13 oz can of Pedigree a day. The can says for her weight she should get 2.5 cans. The vet said cut it down to 1/2 can a day, or 6.5 oz of food total for the whole day!
Won’t that starve her? She’s already hungry all the time, always licking her bowl and begging for food (though she doesn’t get table scraps).
Has anyone tried Slentrol? She’s already got a sensitive stomach, so I don’t know if she can handle it.
I don’t know what to do! She can’t exercise, because of disc disease. Any ideas?
Get on your walking shoes…..You and your dog are about to get healthy and slim…
How many times a day do you walk your dog on the leash????How far do you walk your dog???? Pick out a route that is safe and walk your dog at least 6 city blocks up and 6 city blocks back..Do this twice a day …..
As far as feeding your dog…Dogs don’t need drugs to get slim they need exercise and the right kind of food….
The grocery store food is loaded with chemicals, additives that makes dogs FAT..
.If you knew what was in the grocery store food you would NEVER EVER feed it to your dog again….
Go to Petzmart and get the dry dog food called BLUE…Its organic/holistic all natural doggy food…
Then make homemade chicken stew with brown rice, chopped carrots and celery….
Skinless boneless chicken breast..boil for 45 minutes…with the chopped carrots and celery…..After the 45 minutes on SIMMER add the brown rice…NOT the instant!!! simmer with the chicken and veggies 45 minutes…Let cool
Every morning and evening 3/4 cup of dry BLUE food and 1/4 cup chicken and rice and veggies and your doggy will be one slim happy camper…..
Your dog will slim down naturally with NO DRUGS that only hurt their stomach, kidneys and liver…..
Both of you will be so much happier and you won;t be paying the vet …8-)
