Oscar’s excuses: why did he lose?

I just finished reading Oscar De La HOya’s interview with Nigel Collins of the The Ring magazine…In this interview, Oscar explained that…
* His close win over Ike Quartey was close because he wasn’t top shape. His training schedule was thrown off by an injury.
* His loss to Shane Mosley was because of food poisoning and a struggle to make weight.
* His loss to Mayweather can credited to the fact that he was not able to do what he had previously been able to do. It was the first fight where he saw his age affect his physical ability
* His loss to Pacquiao was over before he ever stepped in the ring. He not only had faded in his ability as proven by his sparring performances. He was dehydrated and was looking to his next bout.
IN THIS WHOLE INTERVIEW HE NEVER SAYS…THIS GUY WAS JUST BETTER THAT NIGHT.
Any thoughts?

Its funny you mention it because I noticed the same thing a while ago, whenever Oscar losses he has a tenancy to blame everybody but the man that stepped into the ring. I own his autobiography “American Son” and in it he says “When I saw Shane at the weigh-in, he looked different. He is always well cut, well defined. This time though, he seemed bigger his muscles different” Then he goes on to say ” I later heard his name had been linked to the BLACO steroid scandal” Almost saying without saying that Shane might have used some performance drugs to beat him.

Or when he Lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. he claimed that Freddy Roach had the wrong game plan but during the Mayweather-Dela Hoya 24/7 series he claims that he and Roach are having one of the best training camps of his career. Everybody claims that Oscar could have won the fight if he kept using his Jab he says he forgot to throw it. If you watch the fight closely Floyd actually starts to switch up his movement in the 2nd half of the fight going side to side and he starts throwing counter combinations, Oscar didn’t forget to throw it Mayweather just took it away

I have respect for what Oscar Dela Hoya has done in the fight game but its about time he start giving his opponents credit instead of finding a way to rationalize the situation. Blaming Trainers, judges, and stomach aches is some what of an outage so that he doesn’t have to deal with the reality.
