How can I lose a lot of weight relatively fast?
I am about 80 pounds overweight, and am away from home for school.
I would really like to lose as much of that weight as I can in the next 87 days. My ideal would be to walk up to my family in the airport and have them not recognize me.
What healthy things can I do to lose as much weight as possible in the time I have?
I am considering going on a water fast, but have yet to hear conclusive information from a credited source about the positive or negative impacts of that.
I am 20, male, vegan, 6’2″, 290 lbs, and currently lift weights 3 times during the week, and play soccer on sunday nights. What else can I do to boost my weight loss?
Well, water fasts don’t really help you lose weight for the long term. I remember reading this on WebMD – most of their diet information comes from the Cleveland Clinic, but I can’t remember the exact article, but I did search on “fasting” at some point.
Good news, you have 3 months to lose weight, so if you start now with a balanced, calorie-restricted diet, you could expect to lose 15-30 pounds (maybe a little bit more). If you continue to lift weights and add some cardio, then you may *look* like you lost more than that, even if the scale doesn’t say so.
Here’s the link to the diet site that I use. It’s free after registration, and you have the option of using their meal plans (they can set one up for vegetarians… I can’t remember if vegan is an option), or entering your own plan. Start counting calories to make sure that you are not over or under eating.
