Does drinking a protein supplement have any good effect?

What does it do? my brother left a brand new jug of GNC PM Protein.

So many misconceptions about protein and protein supplements – where to begin…

1. The product that you are looking at is a low in protein blend. What I mean by this is that it only has whey and casein proteins. Your high end protein blends will also include egg albumen and hydrolyzed proteins. The free form amino acids are a standard in your high end complex blends.

2. These products generally meant to be be taken as you last meal of the day right at bedtime. The whey gives the initial protein supply while the casein gives the sustained release. The high end protein blends are beginning to become more popular with hardcore bodybuilders for use postworkout due to the sustained release of the multiple constituents. Remember that each of the constituents has a positive impact.

3. Protein powders alone will not cause you to lose or gain weight – PERIOD!
