healthy weight loss in 5 weeks?!?

I am 5’3 and 138 lbs. I’m going on a trip in mid-January and want to lose as much weight as possible in a healthy manner, tone up, and just feel fitter. Is losing 10 lbs possible if I am exercising a lot and eating healthy food? Is more too much- if so, why? I know if you lose weight too fast and go back to old unhealthy eating, you will gain it back. But if I continue being healthy could I still gain any back? I have a double chin now, will that go away with a few lbs possibly?

What exercises would be best to make a noticeable difference in how I look and feel? I do cardio running on treadmill and elliptical in my house and basic strength training with dvds usually. Any tips on what to do to make a real difference and details are great!

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.

diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).
