Excessive Weight Loss In Dogs
Our dog has had noticible weight loss and excessive panting.?
Two days ago I noticed our large 1 year old outside dog Stormii was panting excessivly. I didn’t think much of it because we live in the country so I thought he just was running too much.Plus he had plenty of water. He was still panting alot yesterday but he is still his lovable self and still has a good appatite. Today after close examanation he has lost some weight and his gums look black and his drool stinks. The vet hospital out here is closed .The closest emrgency vet hospital is 100 miles. Does anyone have anyone have an idea what is wrong with him?
the description of the gums in combination with some weight loss and excessive panting appears as though he has eaten something that is causing a toxic reaction. I would drive the 100 miles asap to be safe.
