How would I know if I have Type One Diabetes?
It seems like I’ve been urinating more often lately so I looked up “frequent urination” (or something like that) in my copy of The American Medical Association Family Medical Guide. After using a diagnostic flow chart in the book, the conclusion was that I may have Type One Diabetes. I also noticed that I’ve been very hungry and thirsty lately and after weighing myself, realized I lost about 5 pounds. I run a lot (about 2-4 miles daily), which I thought explained the increased hunger and thirst, but I can’t explain the weight loss or the frequent urination.
Does it sound like I have Type One Diabetes, or am I just being paranoid?
If I do have Diabetes, how will that affect my everyday life? Will I still be able to do the things I like, or will my life be very constriced?
As far as I know, no one in my family has Diabetes.
It sounds like you may. Go to the doctor and they will test you. That’s the best way to find out for sure.
