Is sugar really that bad?

So I am getting married this fall and have really changed my eating habits and excercising routine. Nothing drastic, but I make sure that I eat lean meats, vegetables and stay away from carbs and sweets as best I can. It has been working great. I have lost 10 pounds and my body is much tighter.

Now I haven’t cut out sugar.. I have 2 cups of coffee a day, I eat weight watchers ice cream and even those 100 calories packs of baked cookie crips. My sister will not touch sugar! She tells me how terrible it is and that it will prohibit me from loosing any more weight and that I will plateau. Is this true? Should I try to cut out sugar? I really enjoy my alternative treats, but don’t want them to prohibit any further weight loss. Any thoughts????

Sugar has loads of energy which gets turned into fat really quickly if you don’t burn it off. Don’t cut it out completely, but limit it if you want to lose anymore weight.
