Question/opinion on pregnancy and weight loss?

Okay I am 5’3 125lbs and I would like to be about 110lbs because that is when I feel and look the best. I have 2 children and am 33 years old..recently my husband and I have decided to try for our 3rd child..With both of my children I have weight about 110lbs when I got pregnant and did not have much trouble getting back to that weight after pregnancy..well I would like some opinions on which would be easier. A. To lose the weight and get back to 110lbs before getting pregnant again (that way I don’t have so much to lose after having the baby) or B. Go ahead and get pregnant at 125lbs and then try to lose all the weight after the baby. Thanks for any answers!

The best thing to do is going to be to eat well and exercise moderately now.
You don’t want to be exercising too heavily or starting a really restrictive diet right before trying to conceive, but eating healthy and exercising lightly now is a good idea whether you want to lose weight or not – it will mean you’re in better physical shape which is always good for a pregnancy.

While you are pregnant, continue light exercise (this will also help to prepare you for labour and combat tiredness) – yoga is a good one. Eat the recommended calorie intake for a pregnant woman, but get your calories from healthy, slow-release energy foods. Doing this throughout pregnancy will help prevent you gaining too much excess weight.

Will you be breastfeeding? If so, you will need to continue to eat extra calories, but again; get them from good foods rather than ‘empty’ calories. Dieting while breastfeeding will leave you exhausted – it won’t affect your baby because your body will prioritise breastmilk when distributing nutrients, but that will deprive you! So until you’re done breastfeeding, make exercise your main weight-loss tool. Also bear in mind that breastfeeding itself can help you to lose weight.

Basically, pregnancy and childbirth will put a huge strain on your body, so you don’t want to be restricting food intake or overworking your body – but a bit of exercise and healthy eating will help to start the weight loss process now and will make it much easier later on when you can really go for it.
