Beginners Weight Loss Running Program

Advise on 1st time jogging/ running please ?

I have started jogging & jogged at quiet a steady pace for 1mile in 12 minutes.
Is this good for a beginner? I’m 39 years old & weigh 11 stone.

I will do a run/jog at least 3 times per week and aim to build it up, can anyone suggest a good programme to build up my jogging with a view to jog at a faster pace & longer distance eventually?

I am doing this for weight loss only, not for a marathon etc!!!

That is fine for a beginner but really there are no standards. What IS good is that you started running. While 3 or 4 times a week is good, I suggest you run for a half hour even if you need to take walking breaks. Once you can run for a half hour straight you can build up distance at your convenience following one simple guideline, don’t increase your weekly mileage by more than 10% a week. Good luck!
