Ear stapling and weight loss – has anyone tried it?

I’d get my ear pierced there just because it looks pretty cool, but I was wondering if anybody has actually lost weight as a result (be it the “magic” of acupuncture or placebo effect). Also, can’t you risk shattering your cartilage by using a gun? Shouldn’t you use a needle instead?
it doesn’t sound like it will work I mean the acupuncture part.
